Camping trip with Dad

Brian took the 3 kids and Hailey's friend, Rachel on a one night camping trip to Rucker Lake over the weekend. He is either real brave or absolutely out of his mind!

What's wrong with this picture?
"Hey, there were no injuries and no lost equipment...but the boat almost got away from us!"
Keagan's swimming out to the boat to bring it back to shore. He did not anchor it to the shore the night before.

My first camping trip with Daddy!

"Keagan! I told you last night to leave those ducks alone! Just how exactly are we going to explain how the fish hook got into the ducks mouth?"
-Dad

Kelden at 5 months

I can hardly believe I'm 5 months old already. I am 14lbs. I have 2 teeth. I know how to roll over. Also, I have recently learned to scream! I have discovered so many new things this month. Let me share them with you...
... I have the best smile ever!
...I've tasted freedom.
...I can throw tantrums just like the best of them.
...My feet are irresistible.
...There's a time to be serious.
...Green peas are to die for.
...If I help mom the peas get into my mouth quicker.
...A lazy day at the beach is very good for the mind.
...This guy sure does love me.
...Daddy's sleeping bag is way warmer than mine.
...Burney Falls is a long car ride.
...Brother's airplane rides are the coolest!
...Rattles are fun until you hit yourself in the head. Rolling over is way cooler!
...Napping in my crib is GREAT.
...Crawdads are nothing to get excited about.
...Hats are very entertaining to wear and to chew.

A morning hunt

Last night Keagan and Bethany decided to plan a morning hunting trip. They spent the evening laying out their hunting clothes, securing their equipment and packing a breakfast. After a sleepover in Keagan's room, Bethany woke Keagan up at 6:00 a.m. She was so excited! After sneaking around our property and the neighbors for a couple of hours Bethany came back to the house to announce that she had shot a rabbit. "Mom! Mom! My first hunting trip AND my first jack rabbit!" Keagan was beaming from ear to ear after coaching her through the process and teaching her everything he knew about gun safety. I remember so many moments like this with my own brother. We shared a lot of good times together shooting soda cans and army men in our backyard.
